More Work

Hello again my amazing Media Moguls, Unfortunately, I'm still laid up in bed like an old Irish granny, feeling very sorry for herself! So in my absence can you complete the following just to make me feel a little better: Analyse the opening of one film within your chosen genre (this must be a different film to the the ones you analysed for your research) but I want you to focus on editing techniques (transitions and effects etc.) Create a power point (scribd) presentation (or you can do a piece to camera using photo booth) and discuss the editing techniques used within this opening scene: What techniques have been used? Does this editing conform to the genre? If so how? If not why? What impact does the editing have on the narrative of the opening? Does it build tension? Is it parallel or contrapuntal to the music and on screen action? Once you have completed this, I would like you to go back to editing your own opening sequences and add some transitions and effects to your project (keep in mind what you discovered from your analysis). Screen grab your work and again create a post discussing the transitions you have used and your reasons why - this can also be a piece to camera (use lots of media language when discussing) If you have finished all this, then take any spare time to go through your blogs and complete any work which may be outstanding. Hopefully I will see you all on Thursday, all being well Miss B xx
